Nick Minch, Executive Director

Nick has a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health Education.  He began working in the healthcare industry as a CNA in a skilled nursing facility.  After spending some time providing direct care, he became more and more interested in all aspects of senior living.  He has since work in the senior living industry as a Maintenance Director, Admissions Coordinator, Memory Care Administrator at our sister community Regency Park and has been at Royalton Place as the Executive Director since September 2016.

His energy and enthusiasm foster a community that is fun and uplifting for staff and residents alike.  “I want to create an environment where the staff is excited to come to work and where the residents receive the best care possible, we are a family” he says.  

Nick was born and raised in Northeast Portland and currently resides in Gresham with his wife Lindsey and son Ryder.  Together they spend time enjoying outdoor activities like camping and hiking.  In his free time Nick also enjoys wood carving and building wood furniture.

Brett Nielson, Business Office Manager

Brett Joined BPM in 2012 as a caregiver and worked his way up to the Business Office Manager. As the Business Office Manager, Brett is responsible for all aspects of our billing, invoicing, payroll and human resources activities.  Brett has a Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration from Warner Pacific College.

Brett grew up in Eastern Oregon, but moved to Portland to continue his education. In his free time Brett enjoys hiking, camping and spending time with his wife, son, and two dogs.

Sylvia Rigsbee, LPN, Health Services Director

Sylvia is a native of the south, a better known as GRITs {Girls Raised In The South} born in Panama City Florida, raised in South Carolina.  She transplanted to the Pacific North West in March of 2016, following her heart, questing, her only grandchild.  She has been a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of South Carolina since 1981 and obtained Licensure in the State of Oregon in October 2016.  

During all of her many years of practice she has had the privilege of being dedicated to the Assisted Living Level of Care for much of them.  She has been fortunate to be a participant of this industry both witnessing and being a part of the cultural changes as she maintains her passion for this sector of society.  “Aging is not lost youth but a new stage of opportunity and strength”.

She has enjoyed her experience in the Assisted Living environment and is looking forward to the opportunity to continue this passion.   She appreciates teaching and mentoring her team, aiming to motivate her staff to better ascertain their inner strengths and abilities to help discover what truly inspires them in the day to day experiences.  Her ultimate goal is to create a standard of care that goes from good to great, exceeding customer expectation and satisfaction.

Tanya Rosequist-Blim, Activities Director

Tanya was born and raised in Milwaukie, Oregon and moved to Happy Valley in 2003 to start her own event planning party business.  In 2009 she earned a floral degree at the Portland Floral Institute.  Tanya has always had a passion for event planning and can always been counted on to help her friends or her church put together a great event.  Now she gets to do it for the residents of Royalton Place!  In 2009 after caring for her ailing mother who was on hospice, she realized her passion for senior living.  Those strong emotions led her to become an Activity Director and become more involved in the senior community.  She earned her Activity Director certificate in 2014 and has been enriching the lives of seniors since 2013.

Tanya lives in Tigard, Oregon with her husband Kraig and daughter Jaden.  She has a total of four children, two boys and two girls.  She enjoys her family time, the outdoors, kayaking, hiking, camping and travelling. 

Karen Winegar, Dining Services Director

Karen joined the Royalton Place family in 1999 as a third cook and today is our Dining Services Director.  She really loves her job and has a passion for the residents.  One of her favorite things to do is use family recipes given to her by the residents so she can put them on the menu for everyone to enjoy.  

Karen has three boys, thirteen grandchildren and many adopted others.  Her hobbies include cooking and being with her family.

Mark Soloos, Building Services Manager

Mark was born and raised in the Northwest and has travelled and worked throughout the United States.  He has owned and managed a construction company so has a number of skills and abilities that help him a great deal in his role as our Building Services Manager.  He also has electro-mechanical experience and has worked in facilities maintenance most of his post education career.  

When he first arrived in the Portland area he worked for Emanuel Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospitals, but has been working in senior living communities since 2012.  He first discovered his enjoyment of working with seniors when he volunteered at a senior community in high school.  

In his free time Mark enjoys sports and good BBQ.
