Brett Nielson, Business Office Manager

Brett Joined BPM in 2012 as a caregiver and worked his way up to the Business Office Manager. As the Business Office Manager, Brett is responsible for all aspects of our billing, invoicing, payroll and human resources activities.  Brett has a Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration from Warner Pacific College.

Brett grew up in Eastern Oregon, but moved to Portland to continue his education. In his free time Brett enjoys hiking, camping and spending time with his wife, son, and two dogs.

Stacy Cullen, Community Relations Director

Stacy has lived in Portland since 1996.  She grew up in Scottsdale, AZ and went to the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ and achieved a BA in Psychology.  Stacy has a great love for continued learning and went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Counseling and Organizational Behavior from Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR.

After working in social work settings and pharmaceutical sales…she decided it was an ideal combination of experience to work in Sales and Marketing in Assisted Living Communities.  Working with seniors and their families is her passion and she is excited to grow with BPM.

Stacy has been married 27 years, has four children (ages 25-15) and 1 granddaughter who is almost 2!  Along with working…she loves to do Pilates, gardening, attending plays and volunteering for the Trauma Intervention Team of Portland to work side by side with fire and police to assist family members after a tragedy has occurred.

Stacy is thrilled to be a part of Royalton Place and looks forward to many years of being part of the BPM team.

Debra Vice, Memory Care Coordinator

Our Memory Care Coordinator Debra is originally from Tennessee, and likes to be called D.  At the age of 19 she moved to Portland, Oregon and began her healthcare career which has been her field and passion her entire adult life. She obtained her BA in healthcare administration in January of 2016 and is currently working on her MBA.  When asked about her work she said, “I enjoy what I do and truly believe that if we lead with love then at the end of the day we can be proud of what we accomplish that day.”

In her free time she enjoys being outside hiking or just being with friends.  D also enjoys driving and meeting new people, so she moonlights as an Uber driver.  If you happen to be visiting at the end of her shift and need a ride don’t be surprised if she is your driver!

Karen Winegar, Dining Services Director

Karen joined the Royalton Place family in 1999 as a third cook and today is our Dining Services Director.  She really loves her job and has a passion for the residents.  One of her favorite things to do is use family recipes given to her by the residents so she can put them on the menu for everyone to enjoy.  

Karen has three boys, thirteen grandchildren and many adopted others.  Her hobbies include cooking and being with her family.

Mark Soloos, Building Services Manager

Mark was born and raised in the Northwest and has travelled and worked throughout the United States.  He has owned and managed a construction company so has a number of skills and abilities that help him a great deal in his role as our Building Services Manager.  He also has electro-mechanical experience and has worked in facilities maintenance most of his post education career.  

When he first arrived in the Portland area he worked for Emanuel Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospitals, but has been working in senior living communities since 2012.  He first discovered his enjoyment of working with seniors when he volunteered at a senior community in high school.  

In his free time Mark enjoys sports and good BBQ.
